Stansbury Park Feasibility Study
In November 2016, after eight years of preparation by our neighbors, the decision to incorporate Stansbury Park went in front of the voters. The ballot measure failed with 61% of voters being against incorporation. The most common issue identified by those who were against incorporation was that "it's not time yet." It has been six years since that attempt and there has been significant residential and commercial growth in the area. Additionally, our neighboring communities of Erda and Lake Point have approved incorporation. This leaves the residents of Stansbury Park to pay increasing Municipal Service Fund taxes to Tooele County to cover that revenue that will be lost through the incorporations of Erda and Lake Point.
Please consider signing the petition for a feasibility study to incorporate Stansbury Park. This is not a petition to incorporate Stansbury Park, but simply a petition to the Lt. Governor's office of the State of Utah to perform a feasibility study to determine whether Stansbury Park could generate enough property taxes and sales tax revenue to be a viable city. There is no cost to the residents of Stansbury Park to perform the feasibility study.
